Community Services Group
The comserv mailing list is intended to facilitate the discussion of community services issues within public libraries. Discussion topics include: adaptive technology; adult literacy; Indigenous issues; multicultural issues; issues with regard to disabilities and ageing; home library services.
Queensland Local Studies Group
The Queensland Local Studies Group meets four times a year to share information in all aspects of local studies. Two meetings are held in Brisbane and two are held outside the metropolitan area. The host selects the agenda that may include a tour of the library and or a guest speaker.
Public Librarians eReference Group (PLeRG)
The role of this group is to advise and recommend electronic resources of interest to public libraries throughout the State and to consider the best model for their acquisition and access. The group includes representatives from the State Library of Queensland and public librarians from throughout Queensland.
Public Libraries Advisory Group
The Group provides advice to the Library Board of Queensland on the provision of public library services through the State Library of Queensland.
Public Library Performance Management Framework Working Group
The Public Library Performance Management Framework Working Group (PMFWG) is an advisory group to the State Library of Queensland with representatives from public libraries and peak bodies. The PMFWG provides advice to the State Library on the development of performance measurement and reporting for public libraries in order to support the development of public library services in Queensland in accordance with the Expanding Horizons positioning paper.
Public Library Standards Steering Group
This group will drive the ongoing regular review of the Library Board's Queensland Public Library Standards and Guidelines.
Queensland Inter-Library Loans and Resource Sharing (QILLARS)
The group meets quarterly to discuss issues relevant to Inter-Library Loans in public libraries, including technology, improving turn around time, alternative procedures and cooperative agreements.
Young Peoples Librarians Group
This group provides a forum for public librarians serving young people in Queensland. Regular meetings of Young Peoples Librarians are conducted to facilitate networking and information exchange.
