A collection of resources for local studies librarians with interests in local history and/or genealogy.
State Library of Queensland information for family historians - Information about accessing the resources of the State Library's family history services plus links to electronic resources and Internet sites that will help you with your genealogical research.
Expanding Horizons Grants - (formerly known as Library Strategic Development Grants). There have been many innovative projects in Queensland libraries funded by the State Library's Expanding Horizons Grants. You can access their ideas from the project reports.
Information for Librarians - Listings of information and mailing lists relating to Local Studies.
Queensland Local Studies Group - This Queensland Local Studies Group meets four times a year to share information about all aspects of local studies. Two meetings are held in Brisbane and two are held outside the metropolitan area. The host selects the agenda that may include a tour of the library and or a guest speaker. Includes an archive of minutes of the meetings.
Local studies librarians mailing list - To aid in the efficient management of local studies collections. The list will enable all subscribers to communicate about problems faced, and new ways of solving them.
Queensland Memory - Outreach - This project, formerly known as Picture Queensland - Outreach, works with Queensland Public Libraries and cultural organisations to digitise local image collections and making them accessible online.
