Social inclusion

The social inclusion team promotes community engagement and focuses on programs and services which support culturally and linguistically diverse, disabled and Indigenous, individuals and communities.

Disability resources - Resources for public library staff reaching out and engaging with clients who have a disability or supporting their families, carers and friends.

Indigenous resources - Information for public library staff to assist in engaging with their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Included is the Welcome Tool Kit that contains resources that will help public libraries create their own welcoming environment.

Literacy resources - This page provides links to policy direction, useful resources for practitioners and literacy providers, and a discussion list for the development and exchange of ideas.

Local studies resources - For local studies librarians or public librarians with interests in local history.

Multicultural resources - Information for public library staff to assist in engaging with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Seniors resources - To use when developing programs or services for seniors in your library.

Community Services Interest Group - This group meets four times a year to share information about all aspects of community services issues within public libraries. The host selects the agenda that may include a tour of the library and or a guest speaker.
