Oral history resources
Recorded oral histories can be a valuable source of family history. The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Audiovisual Archive [new window] holds a large collection of moving image, recorded sound and photographic materials relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories. The South Australian Museum holds the very significant Norman Tindale Collection and there are a number of records included in the collection.
