Indigenous Library Services

State Library provides a range of services to Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders. Watch a short webcast for an overview of these services.

Indigenous Library Services (ILS) advocates for the participation and inclusion of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders and knowledge in all library services.  Library services are provided through Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) including kuril dhagun at the State Library of Queensland and through public libraries across Queensland. See Welcoming Places: Ideas for public library services for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders for ideas which can be adapted for your library and community.
