Queensland Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs - Community and Personal Histories

Community and Personal Histories [new window] was established to provide Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders with access to records created by the Queensland state government.

The majority of these records have been transferred to the Queensland State Archives.  Anyone can ask to see any government records on 'open access' in the Public Search Room at the Queensland State Archives [new window]. Government records that are still in the 'closed access' period cannot be viewed without written permission from the relevant government department. Contact Community and Personal Histories to arrange to see government records managed by Community and Personal Histories.
