Navigation
On each page in the State Library of Queensland website there are a number of ways to find your way around to other pages. These include:
- Links - links within the page content. Text links are coloured blue and underlined. Image links are less obvious - when the mouse pointer is passed over them it turns by default into a hand symbol. Some links take you to other content, while some, e.g. those in the header and footer areas, take you to pages with 'utility' information such as the site map, contact, copyright and privacy information. Select a link to go to that particular page.
- Primary navigation - a row of text links laid out horizontally just under the header area on every page on the site.
- Secondary navigation - a column of text links running down the left side of many pages on the site.
- Tertiary navigation - text links appearing as sublinks under some secondary navigation links; select the small plus sign next to a secondary navigation link to view these tertiary links.
- Breadcrumbs or breadcrumb trail - a trail of text links to 'parent' pages of the current page, as they are located within the site's heirarchy of pages. Select any link in the breadcrumb trail to go to that particular page.
