New Treasures
was on display in the Talbot Family Treasures Wall, Level 4, State Library of Queensland from 13 March - 15 August 2010. This virtual exhibition is an excerpt from the physical exhibition.New Treasures brought together more than 40 extraordinary items recently added to the State Library's collection – revealing how the collection continues to grow in size, scope and diversity. These 40 items are a small part of the 100,000 items added to the collection in 2008 and 2009 and contribute to our holdings of more than 2 million items.
The State Library builds its collection through generous donations, acquisition, legal deposit, and commissions. The items in New Treasures have been acquired for the John Oxley Library, the Australian Library of Art, Music Collection and the State Reference Library.
