Club Hotel, Nambour

The Club Hotel, Nambour
The Club Hotel, which was eventually destroyed by fire in 1938
[John Oxley Library neg. 72843]

The Club Hotel was an unlicensed residential hotel, and appears to have been known as the "Residential" until 1912, when it received a licence and was henceforth called The 'Club Hotel'.

The hotel in the photograph was a wooden two-storeyed establishment, and like many of its kind eventually destroyed by fire. It was damaged in 1924, and was later completely destroyed in January 1938. It was subsequently rebuilt on the same site, and in 1960 it was extensively extended and renovated.
