Panorama of Bundaberg 1930

PANORAMA OF BUNDABERG, 1930
Panorama of Bundaberg, 1930 [John Oxley Library negs. 173404-173406] (QuickTime VR version)

This panorama was taken from a series commissioned by the Queensland Canegrowers Council to illustrate and promote cane growing in Queensland. These views were taken with a "Cirkut" camera by Robert Belbin, who travelled from Mackay to Mossman photographing sugar mills, farms and town centres between 1925 and 1930.

"The Cirkut camera was loaded with special size film wound on a wooden spool with 72 inches of Kodak Verichrome film, 6 inches wide specially prepared in batches by Kodak. The ideal view was 30 to 36 inches long, as the viewer has difficulty looking at a 48 inch photo that gave a 300 degree view."
