Old Brisbane Domain from River Terrace

The Domain

A wider view of Brisbane's old Domain area in about 1869, taken from River Terrace across the Brisbane River. The two prominent buildings within the Domain are Parliament House at left and Government House to the right.

The Governor of the time, Sir George F. Bowen, first occupied his official residence in 1862. The Queensland Parliament first assembled in its new building on 4 August 1868.
