The House at The Hollow
There was great excitement with the completion of the new house at The Hollow in late 1871.
The Garden
A grand poinciana tree, crocodiles in the nearby Pioneer River, and other garden denizens such as dingoes and frogs.
Chores at The Hollow
Washing, wood chopping, painting and decorating, tending the cattle, and even a spot of amateur photgraphy.
Drinks all round
The family's social life, including celebrations, fashion, interactinh with Mackay's citizens, Aboriginal people and South Sea Islanders, and some good old "buzz-nacking."
