What do you remember of The Johnstone Gallery?

The Johnstone Gallery was an integral part of Brisbane between 1950 and 1972, and the influence of Brian and Marjorie Johnstone and their gallery was widespread. The gallery’s story lives on in the Johnstone Gallery Archive and in the love and affection of those who were associated with it.

The State Library of Queensland would like to give a voice to the Johnstones’ friends, family, clients, artists, colleagues – in fact anyone with Johnstone Gallery memories.

If you have recollections or anecdotes about the Johnstones and their gallery, write your story below. Help us recapture some of the spirit and emotion of those years. We welcome your participation.
