Business: Jan Power
Jan Power has been severely addicted to reading since early childhood and has found no cure. She devours books and newspapers with a passion that infuses her life.
Power is an entrepreneur with a curiosity and determination that leads her to try many new recipes for living. She has trained as a theatre nurse in Sydney, Cordon Bleu cook in London and journalist and public speaker in Queensland. Her voice has been heard on ABC radio for over 15 years.
In 1999 Jan Power transformed the Brisbane food scene by introducing the Farmers Markets. Power is a regular seminar presenter/commentator for chef Masterclasses around Australia, chairs the crime sections at writers festivals, sits on a tourism board and works with the Brisbane Festival.
