Sharon and her four siblings and three cousins were removed from their mother and taken to Horton Village Children’s home in Toowoomba in 1973. They remained there for four years, despite a doctor’s report saying they should only be removed for a minimum of 2-3 weeks. Sharon’s son was nearly taken from her when he was born.
