Beyond the boundaries

Purpose
To encourage Year 11 students to recognise their strengths in making and appraising art, while validating their individual working process.
Description
This unit is developed on the concept of Journey. Students are asked to observe everyday objects and events and challenge the notion of a 'book'. A framework will be established around discussion and reference to art in a range of historical, cultural and social contexts, enabling students to connect with the concept through their own art work.
Each student will participate in:
- the research, develop and resolve model
- making and appraising the subject, enriching their practice
- informed discussion
- valuing the diversity of visual art in different cultures and contexts.
