The State Library of Queensland has been providing free library services to the people of Queensland since the foundation of the institution in 1902. A primary role is to ensure Queensland’s documentary heritage is collected, preserved and made accessible to the public.
The State Library is also a significant research and reference library, and an advocate and financial partner of Queensland’s public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs).
