Floods in Queensland have, and continue to be, a constant theme in the State's history and development. Occurring across Queensland, these natural disasters have caused extensive damage, loss of life as well as social and economic dislocation. As floods are such an enduring and important theme in our history, they have been comprehensively documented.

The wide range of relevant material and information held about these various floods and natural disasters includes photographs, diaries, journals, film, letters, newspapers, published works, maps and oral histories.
