NEWSPAPERS ONLINE

State Library of Queensland subscribes to a number of newspaper databases giving full-text access to hundreds of newspaper titles from around the world. Some databases have significant archives of early articles - back to 1785 in the case of the London Times Digital Archive.

Full-colour, full-page, current newspapers

Library PressDisplay is an 'electronic news-stand' of over 700 current newspapers from around the world. The newspapers appear exactly as they would in paper form and are archived for 45 days from the current date. Newspapers can be selected by country, title and language. Keyword searching is available across titles and within specific issues.

Full text newspaper resources

The NewsBank database provides access to full-text articles from more than 230 newspapers, some dating back to 1998. Newspapers from approximately 98 countries are available with a particular focus on Australian, American and English publications.

Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre includes recent Australian and New Zealand newspaper articles in full text. Includes articles from the The Courier-Mail from October 2000; articles from The Sydney Morning Herald from September 1999; and many others.

The London Times Digital Archive 1785 - 1985 provides coverage of world news from 1785 to 1985. This is the complete digital edition with scanned images of the articles, photographs and advertisements, searchable by keyword.
