DIGITAL COLLECTIONS

Photographs of Indigenous Queenslanders have been digitised and made available on Picture Queensland after appropriate cultural clearances from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, families, individuals or organisations were obtained. Images from Mapoon, Torres Strait, Cherbourg, Brisbane and Hope Vale have been digitised.

As part of State Library's commitment to preserving Indigenous languages, virtual books for children have been created. You can both read and listen to languages including Gunggari, Gamilaraay, Butchalla, Yugambeh and Gudjal.

Digital stories (2-3 minute mini movies) are available for online viewing. Stories from Cherbourg and Woorabinda as well as Response to the Apology: Queenslanders Reflect are available.
