Family connections to World War 1

State Library’s World War I collections include: original diaries and letters; newspapers, photographs, oral histories, medals, and rare publications including home front and battalion histories.

Collection Curator Simon Farley and Senior Family History Librarian Stephanie Ryan outline the resources available to help you trace your family connections to this period. You will also find out about the Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a New Generation project and commemorative activities that SLQ will be leading in partnership with the cultural and heritage sector over the next five years. Find out how you can contribute to initiatives which include the recording of intergenerational stories passed down in Queensland families, a WWI blog and WWI research fellowships.
