Powered by Trove: Opportunities and Challenges for Queensland Libraries
More than a year after Trove’s transition from project to service, Queensland librarians should be aware of Trove and what it offers to Queensland information seekers. But now that Trove is a mature service, it is worth asking new questions about the relationship between Trove and Queensland libraries. What opportunities do Queensland libraries have to improve Trove content and to promote Trove to Queensland library patrons? How can Queensland libraries use Trove now to develop, augment or enhance Queensland specific services? And what might be possible in the future of this new world in which Trove both aggregates and disseminates content from around the nation and the world? How can Queensland libraries position themselves to take advantage of these new opportunities?
In this talk, Debbie Campbell, Director, Collaborative Services, National Library of Australia reflects on Trove’s place in the national cultural and information landscape, and strategic directions for Trove in the 2012-2014.
