Indigenous Resource Officers are available to assist Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders to locate resources and family history information. Indigenous resources include bibliographies and guides, archaeological, linguistic and anthropological records, and materials concerning post-European contact. |

| IKCs provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with the means by which they can exercise a degree of ownership, management and responsibility over the collection, preservation and use of Indigenous knowledge. | ||
| The State Library's Indigenous Knowledge Centre, kuril dhagun, located on Level 1, provides access to a wide range of traditional and contemporary examples of Indigenous knowledge. | ||
| The State Library's website provides access to catalogues, online databases, reference help, online image collections, and much more. | ||
| The resources of the State Library are available to everyone through a number of reference services. These include a free enquiry service for those needing help finding answers, information and resources. State Library collections can be made available state-wide through local public libraries. To help people make use of our resources, we hold regular information sessions and library skills workshops. | ||
