2008 State Library of Queensland Award winners announced at gala dinner.

Finalists for the John Oxley Award and the Library Board of Queensland were announced during Library and Information Week (19-24 May) and the winners of those Awards and the John Oxley Library Fellowship were announced at the State Library of Queensland Awards Dinner on 5 June.

Over 100 guests enjoyed a memorable evening of fine wine and a sumptuous meal complemented with musical entertainment by celebrated performers Kristin Berardi and the James Sherlock Trio. The announcement of the winners was preceded by an interview by Channel 7’s Sharyn Ghidella with guest speaker Wendy Sharpe, one of Australia’s most significant and awarded artists, and who is featured in the stunning exhibition STUDIO in the slq Gallery where the dinner was held.
