An Even Greener State Library

The State Library of Queensland is getting even greener. Through our Climate Change and Energy Action Plan, we are improving the environmental footprint of the State Library’s operations and reducing carbon emissions.

The key areas of improvement in sustainable practices include:

Awards

The State Library is the winner of the 2010 Business South Bank Sustainability Award [new window]. The award recognises the State Library’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability through energy savings, carbon emission reduction programs and recycling initiatives.

The State Library will continue working with its South Bank partners to help make South Bank an even greener experience.

ecoBiz

The State Library participates in the Queensland Government’s ecoBiz [new window] program.

MobileMuster

We support the recycling of mobile phones and mobile batteries and accessories through the MobileMuster program.  Recycling drop-boxes are located at the main reception desks on level 1, South Bank and at The Edge.  MobileMuster [new window] is the official recycling program of the mobile phone industry in Australia.
