Your legacy - Queensland's future

After taking care of loved ones, leaving a gift to State Library, regardless of size, is an important decision that will leave a lasting impression on Queensland's future. Government funding covers only a portion of our ongoing costs. We also rely on the support of generous donors like you to deliver many vital services and programs across Queensland.

Bequests to State Library can help us create a permanent source of income for vital programs that enrich the lives of Queenslanders. Your support will enable us to:

  • nurture Queensland connections with other times and places
  • build our onsite and online collections
  • support community groups across Queensland to preserve and share their unique history
  • extend learning pathways and creative experiences for all Queenslanders
  • support young people and those who are socially isolated
  • provide creative spaces to learn, experiment and exchange ideas
  • improve literacy outcomes for Queenslanders
  • create places for communities to come together - for enjoyment, learning and social activities

Making a bequest

Bequest donors are an important part of the State Library community. If you are considering - or have already made - a bequest to State Library, we encourage you to contact us so we can thank you for your generosity. We also suggest you speak to your family and solicitor about your plans to ensure your wishes are understood and your will is up to date.

We can provide you with wording for your will, or a codicil form to amend your current will. For more information, see our Bequest Guide.
