Tell us! Consultation Project for nine to seventeen year olds

Tell Us! is creating opportunities for the voices and ideas of children and young people to inform planning, programming and development for nine to 17 year olds at State Library of Queensland.

Tell Us! is managed by human ventures’ lowercase team working collaboratively with SLQ staff and members of the community aged nine to 17. Using a ‘peer-research’ inquiry model, Tell Us! is driven by a project crew of young people who guide the development and implementation of research that will influence future planning at SLQ.

Recruited from across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Ipswich, the project crew build skills in communication, data collection and research. Throughout the research phase, the project crew also develop technical skills in filmmaking and editing as they interview participants in the consultation.

The research framework incorporates a social media campaign that aims to broaden participation in the project.

Through the Tell Us! Facebook page, the project crew will be asking for input from young people across Queensland to identify how their interests may connect and intersect with State Library.

Get involved

Tell Us what you think at consultation workshops on 3 October for ages 9 to 17. We’re keen to hear from past participants in our programs. Workshops will be filled with making, creating, learning and playing…and will contribute to planning for future possibilities at SLQ. Participants will also have the chance to win great prizes.
