Reformatting Unit

The principal role of this unit is to microfilm and/or digitise printed and written materials from State Library of Queensland’s Queensland Memory collections.

These materials include:

  • newspapers
  • sheet music
  • manuscripts
  • rare books.

All work is carried out to current archival standards, and the surrogate versions created ensure future preservation and access to often fragile original items of Queensland Memory. For more information about microfilming for preservation see the National Library of Australia's Guidelines for preservation microfilming in Australia & New Zealand.
