RDA Pt 2
Many libraries have implemented the new content standard RDA (Resource Description and Access) since 2013 and many more are considering the change. The number of RDA encoded bibliographic records available is growing rapidly in Libraries Australia and WorldCat. How different is the new standard? Should your library implement RDA? In this introductory presentation Letitia Day, Team Leader Print, Description Services, covers the history of RDA’s development, the importance of FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records), the major differences between AACR2 and RDA, new MARC fields, a demonstration of the RDA Toolkit and more. Karen Stone, Manager Description Services speaks about the SLQ experience of RDA implementation
