There is a Print/Copy room on each level.

Saving data

Infozone

Some terminals in the Infozone on Level 1 do not have CPUs. Data needs to be saved to the upload/download computer in the Print/Copy room on Level 1. You can then download from that computer to your storage device (floppy/CD/USB).

Levels 2-4

  • CDs - most computers on these levels have CPUs, so you can save directly to a CD.
  • Floppy discs - there are no internal floppy drives, however you can borrow a portable floppy drive from staff at the information desk.
  • USBs - you will need to insert your memory stick into the USB drive before you log in, otherwise the computer will not recognise the device. If you forget to do this, you can still save your work to the public drive, log out, insert your memory stick and log back in. Then you should be able to retrieve your data from the public drive and save it to your memory stick.

Uploading

Documents, spreadsheets and powerpoints may be uploaded. Please note information about using storage devices above.

Uploading of software is not permitted.

Wireless access

There will be wireless access points on all public levels where you can bring in your own laptop or notebook. No login is required. Laptops require a standard wireless LAN card with 802.11b/g protocols, and need to be configured to "Obtain an IP address automatically". Currently, wireless access is only available on Level 1.
